DENY NOT THE GIFTS OF GOD

photo taken on April 28, 2012 of the statue of Moroni
on top of the Brigham City Temple that is still being constructed.

I had the opportunity to spend the day with my oldest daughter last Saturday at her competition in Odgen..  We had some time before the awards ceremony so we went up to dinner at the Maddox in Brigham City. After dinner we went and walked around the temple that is being constructed  The sun was at the perfect height to take this picture. It is not very often that you can look directly into the sun.. let alone take a picture of it.

Just wanted to share a couple of thoughts. We tend to focus on just the first 5 verses in the last chapter of the Book of Mormon, primarily verses 3-5. It is the promise that the missionaries use to know if the Book of Mormon is true. I think we would also benefit reading more about the Gifts of God that are found in the following verses"

".. I exhort you, my brethren, that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are administered; but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit them.

And again, to another, the beholding of angels and ministering spirits.

And all these gifts come by the Spirit of Christ; and they come unto every man severally, according as He will."
