MIRRORED IMAGES: Our Reflection of Light

Photo taken on February 3, 2011 (Chinese New Year)
from my office balcony looking west down 500 South.

"And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place."
Luke 4: 42

"And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed."
Luke 5: 16

" He went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God."
Luke 6: 12

I know that the above scriptures really don't go with the photo. But these are the scripture that I read this morning, and I wanted to put them down so that I would not forget them. These three verse are powerful and are found in the 3 consecutive chapters in Luke. Here we have the Creator and Savior of this World departing, withdrawing, to pray in solitude. It is described that he went to the desert, the wilderness, and the mountain.   If Christ felt the need to have solitude, to commune with His father... how much more need do we have to do the same.

  1. Brilliant! It's great to see someone that has a passion for sunsets & skies. It reminds me of the time when I looked to the skies for feelings of magnificent awe. I think I'll start again. :) Thanks!
